Graduation!

Yep, in classic fashion, I'm going to post these pictures almost exactly a month late. And this time I for real don't have a lot to say. It was a really fun day, and I'm sure glad its over!!

This picture is at the walk in the morning. I had mixed feelings and couldn't decided if I really wanted to wake up that early to do it, but of course I got talked into it. Sort of anyway, haha. We decided to do the walk, and then just kind of discreatly get out of line before we hit the spectrum so we didn't have to listen to the commencement speaker. Because that would have been LAME! We went to breakfast instead :) It was a fun experience, mostly because I got to walk with 3 of the girls that I graduated with. My two friends Kubi and Brandi made these leis for us, which was so sweet! They took 2 hours each to make... crazy! P.S. I look really dorky in a lot of these pictures. Not that that's unusual or anything. Oh, and thanks to my sweet, sweet husband for coming and taking pictures!

Walking...

More walking...

This is probably my favorite picture... NOT! But I thought it was funny, so I decided to throw it in here. Notice how NONE of the other peoples gowns were staticy. Yep, just mine. Nice butt shot. I totally thought I had fixed it prior to the walk, but apparently not.

I sure love my sweet husband :) I bought these new shoes the night before graduation and I was really excited about them, and he was attentive enough to know that I would probably want a picture! haha. I bought them because I've never owned flats before and I really didn't want to wear heels and trip on the stage. Thank heavens though, I didn't miss out on all the embarrassment. That would have been tragic! I got the static-embarrassment out of the way early. Phew!

Sickness of me, but cute of the girls. I'm really going to miss them! It's crazy to think about how much time we've spent together the past 4 years. (And in case you were wondering, it took me 5 years, I just didn't know them until I got into the program) When you have such a small major like I did, you pretty much take every class with the same people. And when classes are 3 hours long, and you spend more time out of class working than you do in class, you get to know each other REAL well :)

My ma and pa were also very sweet to come up! My poor Dad had to work all day, since it was the day before mothers day, and his work wouldn't let him leave to come to the ceremony. I was very glad he could make it in the morning. Also want to say I'm so grateful for what a wonderful dad he is, and for all the incredible sacrifices he makes for the family. And my mom too, sheesh! Love you guys!

Here we are in the spectrum. I'm looking around for anyone I know... I never did find anyone, haha. But they were there :)

Love being in the biggest college on campus! Next year all the arts are breaking away and creating their own college. Awesome things always happen right after I leave places! Oh well, not worth staying.

Yay!

Having my name read. Who chose this lady to announce, I'm really not sure! She's a sweet and very intelligent lady and all, but she as a serious lisp! I had a class from her once and it was really hard to listen to her. That's a mean thing to say, but I'm just being honest. Plus that class was hard, which of course leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Yay diploma holder!

Cheese!

I'm just now realizing that these pictures got a little bit out of order, but look how cute my cute husband is!!!! I was so excited to see him :) Oh, also need to give a shout out to him and my little bro Christian for coming down to take pix. Thanks guys!

Thanks mom for all those $5 toy bribes for going to school for a full week in elementary school. I couldn't have gotten this far without you!!! haha. Seriously though, thanks for all your help in getting me to his point! I couldn't have done it without you! Literally.

I have to be honest, I wasn't expecting these cute boys to come, so it was an awesome and almost emotional shock when I saw them. Thanks boys, that meant more to me than you'll know!

Sure love this boy. And sure glad at least one of us got to walk, since he's clearly established he wont be participating in his own... whenever that day comes. Who knows...

Thanks Becki for being such a sweet support and for being so encouraging! And also thanks for letting me junk up your house with all my art stuff, I'm sure my mom really appreciates it!

This is my cousin Amber who also graduated. Yeah, she's two years younger than me and we got done at the same time, haha. Smart girl that's for sure!

My grandma and grandpa :) So glad they could make it!

And here we are! A huge huge HUGE thanks goes to this sweet little pig. Thanks babe for all your love and encouragement, and for letting me know that you thought my work was great, and supporting me even if you didn't always understand it, ha. Thanks also for the massage gift cards!! Yay! Can't wait to go in for the second one!

Now lets just hope this is all for real! The dumb art office puts in grades for classes that you're a TA for, and they thought they missed the deadline, and in doing so, missed the real deadline, which put my grade in automatically as an F!!!! Anyway, needless to say, I had to call my professor and he had to submit a paper form, but said it wouldn't change the grade for 4-5 weeks. So I guess technically I'm not even graduated yet, haha. The good news is, I ended on a high note! The only 4.0's I've ever had were the first trimester of 6th grade, and this last semester of my college career (assuming the art office can figure it out!). Its very refreshing :)

I really don't have a lot of feelings tied up with graduating like I thought I would. I'm very grateful for all the things that I've learned, and I'm also very grateful to have a life now! It's been a long 5 years, but I'm so glad I did it. Thanks again to everyone for your support :)

  5. Tara! This is Abbey. You are so cute! I can't believe you have never worn flats before! Those ones are super cute though.
I looked at your previous post - I was looking at the pic of that girl and thinking she could be right out of a magazine and I about had a heart attack when I saw it was my Bog! (not that she couldn't be in a magazine, I just didn't even recognize her) That beautiful bog :) Your photography is awesome. Congrats on graduating.
