Disneyland!

A couple weekends ago I got to go to Disneyland for work! Yes, for work! Each year the company holds a contest and the winners get an expenses paid trip to beautiful California to go to the happiest place on earth! Whether or not I was really the "winner" is still up for debate as far as I'm concerned, but I was very grateful to have been given the opportunity to go none the less. It's so great to work for a company who does such awesome things for its employees. I do feel like I've grown a lot at my position since I started and it is nice to feel that my hard work is recognized. Especially when I'm competing against someone like my co-worker who is absolutely amazing!

To kick the trip off, we had a nice and early 6:05am flight! We left Logan at 3:00am so that we could leave my boss's house at 3:30. Wow, that was early! We flew into Las Vegas and then we had an hour layover before our next flight to Orange County. You know how when your in Vegas there is a likelihood that you might meet someone famous? Well, I didn't, but pretty much everyone else did! I'm trying to catch a couple z's when I notice that everyone but me and Hillary is gone. Next thing I know they all come back talking about how they just met Mike Tyson. MIKE TYSON! Yikes! Not that I really care about him or anything, but it would have been cool to meet someone famous. Oh well, maybe next July when we're there again.

We were lucky enough to be lodged in the Grand California Hotel. It was really awesome! You can step right out the doors and be in California Adventures. Sooo convenient! Our rooms weren't ready when we got there, so we checked our bags and headed into the park! Here are a couple pictures from our 3 days there!

Woohoo, Logan Campus! (Don't mind my fat, white face)

First time on Tower of Terror (which was totally my favorite!) We're in the front here. Screaming our lungs out but mostly just laughing at Hillary :)

Second time on Tower of Terror. We're in the back here. Lovely hair. Notice the lady in front doing the "we're about to get in a car wreck" protection hold to her daughter. Haha.

Sorry Hillary ;) I had to!

Outside the Hotel

These were so cute! They sold them at this little shop in Downtown Disney. One of the nights we ate at a place called the Jazz Kitchen. It was really tasty! That is one thing about these trips, you DEFINITELY never go hungry!

Luckily I'm kind of hiding in this one, haha. Side note: This picture just reminded me, it is such a small world! I found out on this trip that the DOA from Ogden has a cousin who went to high school with Brig, the DOA from Flagstaff grew up with Brig's cousins (in Flagstaff), and a guy from the Provo Campus grew up with my cousins in Ogden! Crazy :)

"Ahhh.... Halllo?

The lobby of the hotel

Gotta get a picture of the room

I even had a balcony!

This was one of the COOLEST parts of the trip. California Adventures has this new water show that is A-MAZ-ING! It's like the Belagio times 5,000. I have a video that I need to figure out how to get on here. If you're going to the park anytime soon make sure you do not miss it! This picture REALLY does not do it justice.

Friends from St. George, and Provo campuses. While I was a little bummed that spouses were not invited on this trip, I did really have a great time getting to know some of the people from the other campuses that were there. They were really nice to let me tag along with them!

Ahhh, duh duh duuuhhh! Love it.

The first night ended with a dinner and a get to know you hour. After that I went to bed because I was totally exhausted! The next day we had some really awesome training and then spent most of the day in the park. Hillary and I checked out the hot tub for a bit, which was wonderful! We met this totally funny Australian couple with their little boy that thought we were employees and kept saying that he wanted our autographs and told me which room they were staying in so that we could hang out later. He was so cute! The third day we had more great training in the morning, a little bit of park time, and a VERY long trip home. Shuttle picked us up at 2:30, flight was at 4:50, got to Las Vegas where our flight was delayed and didn't leave until 9:15, lost an hour with the time change, still had to drive home in a blizzard, got home at 1:30am. Wowee!
Anyway, I had a really great time in Disneyland and again am so grateful to have had the opportunity to go. Even though the weather wasn't ideal, it was nice to get out of this wet muck that we've been having! Hopefully I'll be able to go again next year! Cross your fingers!
