Hiking... Yuck

Brig and I don't have much in common as far as our interests go. Pretty much the only things we can agree on are watching movies and boating. What that means for us is that since I am the wife, most of our time together (which isn't much) is spent doing what I want to do! I know, you're all very shocked and amazed at this. Good thing I have a great husband! I decided one day that I should probably not be so selfish and suggest to Brig that we do something that he LOVES to do. So, Saturday we went on a hike! Here are a couple pictures from the day (I have to interject that I did not take my nice camera on this hike. I hate lugging that thing around. I know, call me crazy. These are just from the point and shoot):

The weather was really pretty good while we were hiking but it got kind of windy and cold when we stopped. There ended up being too much snow (for which I was not prepared as I don't have the necessary equipment, nor feel the need to ever spend money on such equipment), so our hike didn't turn out to be that long.

Brig really wanted to teach me how to build a fire. For the record, I have been building fires for a very, very long time. But, Brig wanted to teach me how to do it without using matches. Survival situation style. I don't know what it's called, but I lit the fire using the thing that I'm carrying around my neck in the next picture. I have to admit, I did feel pretty cool when I got it lit.

And here is Snoop laying in the snow. The crazy!

It was nice to be able to finally spend an afternoon with my Husband, even if it was doing something that I don't really like to do :) Maybe I'll get used to it by the time we're old, who knows!?

  1. That's so fun Tara. I'm so proud of you for actually OPTING to do something Pig likes to do. You're a huge example of what I need to do on occasion. I'll have to try that one with Dave. Good job startin that fire!!!

  2. It's all about compromises.

Your Disneyland pics looked fun! I was just thinking how fun it would be to go without kids.
