Fiesta Cup

This year I got to play in the 6v6 women's tournament again and it was a blast! And the best part is I didn't even break anything this time! We didn't really do too hot, but I still had so much fun and was so glad to be able to lace up the old cleats again!

Our cute team :)

I don't think I've ever been so nervous for a tournament before. It wasn't because of the competition or anything, it was because I wasn't sure if I was even going to be ale to play at all! I hurt my knee a couple months earlier and didn't know what was wrong. Of course I refused to go to the dr. because our insurance has a huge deductible and I didn't want to pay for it! I had been invited to go to a co-ed tournament in Vegas in May and was super bummed that I couldn't go. Especially because my sister Nicole was going and it would have been so fun! I just didn't want to risk getting all the way down there to find out that I couldn't even play. Eventually, being super bummed out all the time was just too much for me, so I finally caved and went to the dr. the Wednesday before the women's tournament. He said I have a bone spur and gave me a steroid injection. I asked him if it would hurt my knee worse to play in the tournament, and he said no, so I went! And it didn't hurt at all until the very end! I was soooooo grateful. I really had been having anxiety because I just wanted to play so bad. Soooo bad. To say I was rusty is an understatement, but I didn't even care! Which is weird for me, because usually I am super critical of myself. I was just so glad to be out there. It's also always so fun to play with Nicole. She is awesome! Thanks for inviting me Kami! We have a co-ed tournament coming up in August, so now I have to try and get in shape for that! Super excited :) I'll let you know how it goes!
